General
Can I have my ceremony outside?
The Warrnambool Racing Club boasts a variety of unique Grandstands, gardens and lawn areas that are perfect for hosting your ceremony outside. It is the ideal location for creating beautiful wedding photography for large crowds or intimate bridal party photos.
Where can I smoke?
No smoking is allowed inside any WRC venue, including on The Deck. Smoking is permitted outside on the back lawn.
Matilda Room
Can I organise my own caterer?
Clients are required to go through our in-house caterer, Wyton Events & Catering. They will work alongside you to provide the desired menu for your event.
Can I bring in my own alcohol?
No alcohol is to be brought onto the premises. The WRC will stock and run the bar for your event. You’re more than welcome to run a bar tab for your event or people can purchase drinks at bar prices.
When can I set up for my event?
Clients may access the Matilda Room within office hours (9am – 4pm) one (1) business day prior to event (subject to availability) or by prior arrangement with the Events Team.
Where can I park?
There is vehicle parking via Gate B off Grafton Road. All vehicles are required to park outside the gate.
What is included in Room Hire?
- Room set-up, including table cloths
- Tableware, glassware, and linen
- Dancefloor
- PA system and AV
- Private bar access
What AV is included in the Room?
Lectern and microphone, sound system, multiple in-house TVs, on-course super screen, and wireless internet access.
Moloney Room
Can you apply for my liquor license for me?
For a fee of $145, the WRC can apply for your liquor licence on your behalf. This will need to be indicated on your booking form at the time of booking.
Can I hire equipment from you?
The WRC have an extensive list of items and furniture that can be hired for your event, which can be found here.
Is there heating?
There are no heating facilities within the Moloney Room. Heaters can be outsourced from an external supplier.
Where can I park?
Vehicle parking will be via Gate D off Moore Street. All vehicles are required to park outside the gate and guests can make their way on foot to the Moloney Room. Do not park or drive on any grassed areas. All cars must ensure they stay on the paths provided on course.
When can I collect and drop off the keys?
Keys can be collected from the WRC office 2 business days prior to your event, and returned to the WRC office by 10am the following business day after your event.
Am I responsible for locking the room and the gates?
Yes. The Moloney Room and Moore Street gate are to be locked whenever the site is vacated. If the room or gates remain unlocked, you may be subjected to pay the damages and clean up fee.
What AV is included in the Room?
There is no AV equipment included with the Moloney Room. AV needs can be quoted separately by our preferred supplier; South West Communications.
What does my caterer need to bring?
Your caterer will have access to the equipment located in the kitchen, which includes instant hot water, fridges, gas stove top and a combi oven (trays not included). Your caterer will need to provide everything else, such as utensils and any pots, pans, trays, etc.
